Plein Air in Natchez, Mississippi

We enjoyed a little trip to Natchez, Mississippi to see family, so I took my paint hoping to paint Mount Locust on the Natchez Trace.  Every Plein Air Artist knows that the best time to paint is early morning or late evening.  I arrived at Mount Locust after 8am and they didn't open till 9am, so I went to the Jefferson College grounds and painted the President's House.  I tried to paint at Mount Locust in the afternoon but they closed at 4:30pm and wouldn't let me stay to finish the painting, so I will have to work on that for the next trip.  lol

What a beautiful place to paint under this huge live oak tree!

Deep concentration!

2 hour study.  It really takes three and I was rushed on the trees!
